Pricing

Per workspace member. Never per customer, never per engineer.

You pay for the people who sign into Pealboard to do product, support and business work. The engineers already pay GitHub, and the customers in your portals are free at any number.

Billing period

Annual is 20% less, billed once for the year.

What is metered

Billable workspace members: the owner, admin andmember roles. The quantity is recounted from the database after any membership change and sent to Stripe, which prorates the difference.

What is never metered

  • The viewer role. A workspace can add read-only viewers without increasing its bill.
  • Portal customers and companies, on every plan, at every volume.
  • Engineers. They work in GitHub and never sign into Pealboard, so they are never counted.

What Business adds

These three are named for v1.1 and do not ship today. They are listed here because they are what the Business price is for, and a plan that charges for something absent should say so on the page where it charges.

  • Portal JWT single sign-on
  • Audit log export
  • Custom portal domains

There is no SAML at launch, and there is no Enterprise tier.

Questions

Who counts as a billable member?
The owner, admin and member roles. Viewers do not count, so a workspace can add read-only people without increasing its bill. Portal customers and companies never count, on any plan at any volume. Engineers who work in GitHub and never sign into Pealboard never count either.
Are portal customers ever billed?
No. Every plan, including Free, includes unlimited portal customers and unlimited companies, and none of them is ever counted or charged.
Is there a trial, and does it need a card?
A workspace starts on Free. A 14-day trial of Team is available and needs no payment card. At the end of it the workspace returns to Free unless a card was added.
What happens if a payment fails?
Writes are refused and reads continue. Nobody is locked out and nothing is deleted: every issue, request and view stays visible, and a banner says the workspace cannot be edited until billing is up to date. Portals keep serving; a customer can read their requests and cannot submit a new one.
How does the annual price work?
Annual is 20% less per member per month and is billed once for the year: $96 per member for Team, $192 for Business. Switching between monthly and annual keeps the plan and reprices it; Stripe prorates the difference.
Is there an Enterprise plan?
No. There are three plans and their prices are on this page. Business includes portal JWT single sign-on, audit log export and custom portal domains, which are named for v1.1 and do not ship today; there is no SAML.
What happens to our data if we cancel?
Nothing you need to act on. Every issue, comment, label, milestone and project field value was GitHub’s the whole time and is exactly where it was. What Pealboard holds — portals, requests, customers, saved views — stays until you delete the workspace.
