Better Auth redirects a failed portal sign-in here with ?error=<code>, and this hands the browser back to that portal’s own sign-in screen. A customer of the Acme portal never sees a page that mentions Pealboard.

Access. No credential. Open to any caller. A customer’s sign-in has just failed, so there is no session. It reads one query parameter and the forwarded host, and answers with a redirect to that same host.
