Billing
Billing is the owner’s. Settings → Billing is visible to the owner and to nobody else.

Prices are US dollars per billable workspace member per month. Annual is 20% less and is billed once for the year: $96 per member for Team, $192 for Business.
Business also includes portal JWT single sign-on, audit log export and custom portal domains, which are named for v1.1 and do not ship today. There is no Enterprise tier.
What is counted
Section titled “What is counted”Billable members are the owner, admin and member roles.
Never counted:
- Viewers. Add as many read-only people as you like at no cost.
- Portal customers and companies, on every plan, at every volume.
- Engineers. They work in GitHub and never sign into Pealboard.
The count is recalculated from the database after every membership change and sent to Stripe, which prorates the difference on the next invoice. There are no seats to buy in advance and no seat left paid for after somebody leaves.
The trial
Section titled “The trial”A new workspace starts on Free. A 14-day trial of Team is available and needs no payment card. At the end of it the workspace returns to Free unless a card was added, and any limit Free imposes — 3 members, 1 portal, 3 repositories — applies again.
Changing plan or interval
Section titled “Changing plan or interval”Change plan in Settings → Billing. Switching between Billed monthly and Billed annually keeps the same plan and reprices it; Stripe prorates.
When payment lapses
Section titled “When payment lapses”If a subscription lapses, writes are refused and reads continue. Nobody is locked out, no data is deleted, and every issue, request and view stays visible. Creating an issue, replying to a portal or changing a field returns a refusal naming the reason, and a banner reads “This workspace cannot be edited until billing is up to date. Reading continues.”
Portals keep serving. A customer can read their requests and cannot submit a new one while the workspace is in that state.
Invoices
Section titled “Invoices”Manage billing opens the Stripe customer portal, where you can change the card, change the billing address and VAT details, and download every Invoice. Pealboard does not hold your card number; Stripe does.
Canceling
Section titled “Canceling”Cancel in the Stripe customer portal. At the end of the paid period the workspace returns to Free.
Canceling deletes nothing. Every issue, comment, label, milestone and project field value was GitHub’s the whole time and is exactly where it was. What Pealboard holds — portals, requests, customers, views — stays until you delete the workspace.
